The project combines solar energy and battery storage in one integrated solution, supporting a more flexible, resilient, and efficient energy system while helping strengthen grid stability as renewable energy capacity continues to grow across Europe.
With 11 MW / 22 MWh of battery storage capacity, co-located with Nordic Solar’s 44.3 MWp Tiste Solar Park, the project represents an important milestone in the company’s growing energy storage portfolio and broader ambition to support the development of future energy infrastructure.
By combining solar and storage at the same site, the project enables more efficient use of existing grid infrastructure, increased system flexibility, and improved balancing of fluctuations in renewable energy production. Co-located BESS solutions are expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting grid stability, energy security, and the continued acceleration of the green transition across Europe.
“Projects like Tiste demonstrate how integrated renewable energy solutions can help maximize the value of existing infrastructure while supporting a more reliable and flexible energy system,” says Nikolaj Holtet Hoff, CEO at Nordic Solar.
Tiste BESS is located in Niedersachsen in Germany.
