“We are continuously looking for opportunities to grow and strengthen our platform for renewable energy. This is one such opportunity”, says Nikolaj Holtet Hoff, CEO of Nordic Solar.
This strategic opportunity could strengthen Nordic Solar's portfolio, broaden its presence in key markets, and enhance its position in the renewable energy sector.
“One of our strategic goals is to achieve economies of scale and reach 1 GWp in operation. We view Obton Solenergi Stabil’s operational portfolio as a strategic fit that aligns with our existing business model, markets, and long-term growth. At the same time, we believe that we can unlock significant value in the portfolio by drawing on our experience in operational efficiency and project development, including the integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), which we expect will create greater value for our and Obton Energi Stabil’s shareholders”, says Nikolaj Holtet Hoff.
At this stage, the offer represents an expression of interest from Nordic Solar. To facilitate this process, Nordic Solar has offered the provision of preliminary and time-bound asset management services for Obton Solenergi Stabil’s operational assets. This will allow both Nordic Solar and Obton Solenergi Stabil to assess the long-term potential of combining their operational portfolios.
At this stage, Nordic Solar has made significant progress in discussions with Obton Solenergi Stabil.
“We have reached alignment on key principles, including the valuation approach for both portfolios, and we see strong potential in combining our portfolios to create a more resilient renewable energy platform. Next steps will focus on advancing this collaboration toward a mutually beneficial agreement and we are positive that we will be able to successfully sign an agreement swiftly that delivers value for all stakeholders”, says Nikolaj Holtet Hoff.
