Nordic Solar enters the Irish market and secures RESS contracts for 150 MWac.

We have successfully secured a 320 MWac Solar PV and 280 MW BESS portfolio in Ireland – and in the recent Irish RESS auction, two of our projects, Coolcarrigan (100 MWac solar PV and 80 MW BESS) and Gortdrum (48 MWac solar PV), both have been awarded 15-year Contracts for Difference (CfD).

The Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) is Ireland’s national auction program designed to accelerate the country’s transition to clean energy. Through competitive tenders, RESS awards long-term contracts to projects that can deliver renewable electricity at the best value – providing both revenue certainty and a clear path to construction.

“Securing these RESS contracts marks a major milestone for Nordic Solar and reinforces our long-term commitment to the Irish energy market. Ireland’s combination of strong policy support and growing demand for clean energy creates a great environment for solar and storage development,” says Tim Gadatsch, CIO at Nordic Solar.

This achievement highlights our strong entry into the Irish market. Our portfolio now includes six projects of Solar PV and battery storage, positioning Nordic Solar as an ambitious and growing renewable energy player in Ireland.
